Getting Started — Setting Up for Translation Testing

This guide walks you through logging into PurpleBlossom.ai, switching the interface to Spanish, and understanding what to check on every screen.

Test Account Credentials

Item Value
URL https://purpleblossom.xyz
Username i18n_tester
Password Demo123!

Step 1: Log In

  1. Open your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari)
  2. Go to https://purpleblossom.xyz
  3. You will see a login screen
  4. Type i18n_tester in the username field
  5. Type Demo123! in the password field
  6. Click the login button
  7. You should see the main dashboard screen appear

Step 2: Switch to Spanish

The application starts in English. You need to switch it to Spanish (Mexican):

  1. Look at the top-right area of the screen — the header bar
  2. Find the flag icon (it will show a small US flag if currently set to English)
  3. Click the flag icon — a dropdown menu will appear
  4. Select "Espanol (Mexico)" from the list
  5. The flag icon will change to a Mexican flag
  6. All text on the screen should immediately switch to Spanish
  7. A small notification message will appear confirming the language changed

Important: The application remembers your language choice. You only need to do this once. The next time you log in, it will already be in Spanish.

Step 3: Verify the Switch Worked

After switching to Spanish, check the following on the current screen:

If anything still shows in English after switching, that is an issue to report.

What to Check on Every Screen

As you go through each area of the application, always check these elements:

All Visible Text

Every word on the screen should be in Spanish. Read through all text carefully.

Buttons

Common buttons should appear as:

Menu Items and Navigation

Every item in the sidebar menu and any sub-menus should be in Spanish.

Page Titles and Subtitles

The main heading and any subheadings on each page should be in Spanish.

Form Labels and Placeholder Text

Error Messages and Notifications

Tooltips

Date and Number Formatting

Understanding the Sidebar Navigation

The left side of the screen has a sidebar menu organized into three groups:

Group 1: Daily Workflow (Flujo Diario)

These are the screens you would use every day:

Group 2: Business Tools (Herramientas de Negocio)

These are tools for building your business:

Group 3: Resources (Recursos)

These are learning and support resources:

Each group header can be clicked to expand or collapse that section. Click a group header to show or hide its items.

Helpful Keyboard Shortcuts

These shortcuts work throughout the application:

Shortcut What It Does
T Opens the guided tour for the current screen
? Opens the help panel
Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) Opens the command palette — a quick search to jump to any screen

The command palette is a text box that appears in the center of the screen. You can type a screen name to jump there quickly. Check that the command names and descriptions in this palette are also in Spanish.

Tips for Efficient Testing

  1. Work through one guide at a time. Each guide covers one area of the application. This keeps your notes organized.
  1. Take screenshots. Whenever you see an issue, take a screenshot before moving on. This helps the development team find and fix the problem.
  1. Read everything out loud. If a phrase sounds awkward when spoken, it probably needs improvement.
  1. Try different actions. Click buttons, submit forms with missing fields, hover over icons. Error states and edge cases are where translations are most often missing.
  1. Note inconsistencies. If the same word is translated differently on two screens, record both so we can standardize.
  1. Do not worry about technical problems. If a button does not work or a page shows an error, that is a separate issue. Focus only on the text and translations.
